BREAKING NEWS: Elijah has now gone TWO nights in a row, sleeping all the way thru the night with the exception of ONE mid-morning feeding! Two nights ago, he fed at 7:00 and again at 9 p.m. and didn't wake up until 2:20 a.m. and again at 6 a.m. Then last night, he fed at 7:30 p.m. when he went to bed and did not wake up to feed until 3:45 a.m.!!!! Then after that, he slept until 7:30 this morning!!
This mommy feels like a new woman! Wow! Hello world! :D
We praise God for HIS answers to our prayers! We pray Elijah continues this trend. Other than that, we are still working on his daytime naps, which still seem a bit sporadic; however, we have heard and read in several places that the naps start to fall more into place once baby starts sleeping thru the night. When on his tummy, Elijah is holding his head up high, looking around. His is starting to reach for things with his hands, though he doesn't quite have the coordination down. Sometimes he is able to grasp an object, other times he can't quite figure it out just yet. We are so thankful for our sweet little boy who really only fusses when he's tired, and sometimes when he's hungry, but mainly his fussiness is during the daytime when he's tired and trying to take a nap.
Last weekend, June 5th, was the baby dedication at our church. We dedicated our son to God, from whom all blessings flow, and we dedicated ourselves as Elijah's parents to "train our child up in the way he should go" according to God's ways. We were grateful for the support and presence of my mom ("Mimi"), Gavin's mom ("Nonnie"), and Gavin's dad ("Grandpa"). My dad was unable to drive in due to work schedule, however he was able to watch the service online. What a special, memorable moment for our family!
(The only other family to dedicate children were our friends Gerald and Sarah Clay, who had one-month old twin boys! Darling!!)
"Train up a child in the way he should go, and even when he is old he will not depart from it." Proverbs 22:6
Here is our Pastor Bracken Christian speaking and praying over Elijah. Elijah did SO well, just looooooking around and at Pastor Bracken, he did not peep one little fuss at all! :) We were proud parents!
