Kickin' and Punchin'

Greetings friends!

Gavin and I had a wonderful Thanksgiving break! The weekend prior, we traveled to Fort Worth for our first baby shower, hosted by my mom and sisters. They had a really cute Winnie the Pooh cake and honey bee cupcakes. I also was especially impressed by the creative idea of "honey pots" as party favors - These were the little circular containers like what lip balm sometimes comes in, filled with honey, and taped to each one was a little one-verse prayer for Baby Dickson. So now we have lots of friends and family praying God's Word over our son! What a blessing!

We got lots of fun and neat gifts for our precious one - books, clothes, a highchair, sroller, play gym, bouncy seat, I can't name them all. But more than anything, Gavin and I just really enjoyed getting to see everyone.

NEW WASHER AND DRYER!
About 2 weeks before Thanksgiving, our 10-year-old dryer had gone out. So we were trying to wait to find a Black Friday deal - and that we did! We got an energy efficient Whirlpool washer and dryer set from Lowe's for just under $1000! We are thankful to God for His provision for our growing family. (I am also releived to not have to go to the laundromat anymore. I didn't mind, but it sure did cause some inconveniency in my normal weekly routine!)

The Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving, we spent doing a little (secret) shopping for each other, pulling the old washer and dryer in preparation for the new ones beind delivered Saturday, AND putting up CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS! We LOVE putting up our Christmas decorations! Gavin got our blue LED lights up on the house, and we got new gold reindeer in the front yard. We had to be creative indoors, as we no longer have space for our large Christmas tree. (It's up for sale if anyone wants one!) We're going to have to purchase a skinnier tree to fit better in the space that we have.

A FEW OTHER NOTES OF INTEREST
A couple years ago for Christmas, my mom bought us a dual-control heated mattress cover. Last year, we used it a LOT (ME more so than Gavin!) and it really helped us to go to sleep in WARMTH on those COOOOLD Lubbock winter nights! (Especially that night we had a blizzard come through at 4 in the morning!) Well...THIS year is a little different....Gavin has been sleeping with his on pretty consistently all through the night. I, on the other hand, have just been turning mine on before going to bed so it's warm when I get in bed, but then turn it off when I get IN bed. Otherwise, I get HOT! (Thank you pregnancy hormones! haha!)

BABY DICKSON
Baby Boy Dickson continues kicking and punching throughout each day (and night!)
I love feeling him move so much inside me. Gavin and I try to talk to him. We tell him how much we love him and talk to him about our days. We are now 28 weeks along, continuing to feel great, other than some occasional lower back aching. We go back December 22nd for our next sonogram, which is supposed to be one of those new fancy 3D or 4D ones.

Gavin's still working on fixing things up on the website. I'm not able to post pictures yet, but I'm very anxious to, so my silly hubby will be trying to fix that very soon. Until then, we pray your December is off to a great start! Please feel free to leave comments and let us know what you think of our new blog!
