As of Tuesday, November 9th, I will officially be 24 weeks pregnant with our sweet baby boy. I can tell that my belly is expanding more and more these days, which I'm told is normal at this point in the journey. I am usually able to get comfortable at night, with the help of a couple extra pillows to support my belly and back, but some nights I find myself tossing and turning. Gavin tells me I'm taking up more and more of the bed, hard as I try not to, because I know he needs his sleep more than me since he works much longer hours than I do. But he's so loving and patient and understands....we both just do what we can and ask God for strength and energy each day, knowing the "uncomfortable" side effects of pregnancy are only temporary.
Gavin has been working on finishing his mural in the nursery. Once he finishes, we'll put the crib together - which I'm so excited about doing, it's hard to wait some days!! Nonetheless, I just know the nursery will look SO cute when it's all finished and ready for baby!
Our younger cat, Bagel, still jumps up in my lap sometimes and tries to walk across my belly or push her paws on my belly....which can be bothersome, so I just pick her up and either toss her back to the floor or place her over to my side. For some reason, she just really seems to enjoy cuddling with me when I'm sitting in my LaZyboy chair...hhhhmmm, wonder how she'll handle it when I have a baby in my arms??? haha!
Other than that, we are starting to gear up for the holidays - getting excited about Thanksgiving, and spending Black Friday in Lubbock where it only takes an hour to catch all our favorite sales and get back home before the "grouchy crowd" comes out at 8 or 9:00.... We enjoy getting up EARLY with our coffee, making the rounds, and then enjoying the rest of the day back at home wrapping our gifts and then starting the process of putting up Christmas decorations.
We'll be heading to Dallas/Ft. Worth the Saturday before Thanksgiving for our first baby shower, hosted by my 2 sisters and a cousin of mine. That will be the last of our travels until after baby is born, but we're excited about one last "getaway" as just the two of us, as well as getting to see all of our DFW family and friends!
So...those are my only Sunday afternoon thoughts for this week....I'm working on keeping up with this blog more frequently since we no longer do Facebook (which I have to say, life has been WONDERFUL this past week as the first week without FB!) Until our next update, we pray God blesses you and keeps you and makes His face to shine upon you!
